Hi, Try again. Lionel Big Boy 4014 new release has Big Boy written on boiler front and Big Boy floor mat in cab. Will the new Mth Big Boy release have the same thing? Could not tell by MTH catalog. Thanks

The only people who can answer this work for MTH. Try calling Mike.

Sure MTH has the Big Boy name written on the front and mats as well as on the fireman's Tee shirt.
Thanks Alan for the reply. Do you know if this is the 20-3775-1 Oil version and the 20-3776-1 coal version? Hate to order something not knowing.

What are the descriptions of each in the MTH catalog, or the MTH website?
Talk to your dealer before you order.
Assume its the oil version. It would be on 4014 as it appears today. The coal version never had it in real life. Not a big deal either way as you can get the decal on eBay.

Doesn't really say in catalog. Talked to dealer, Didn't know. I e-mailed MTH, may get a reply next week. Thanks for the replys!
Which diesel are you going to buy to shove the Big Boy around? That would be prototypical, after all.
Would that be a diesel model that could mimic exhaust problems such as blown rings? If the Big Boy can belch smoke, a diesel like that would be a good match...lol

For what its worth, EMD modern diesels don't get "blown rings", as the rings are prestressed stainless steel, and even two or three large strong adults couldn't break one! Besides, the diesel units that the UP puts behind #4014 rarely ever smoke.
Thanks for all the replys. May put another Big Boy behind it. Two for one???
Rich Melvin, Which diesel did they use to move it from California?

I don’t know. The entire Big Boy soap opera holds no interest for me whatsoever.

1996 was one of the diesels out of CA.
4141 was Houston to Collage Station.

1996 was on the dead in tow move.
4141 was on the special last fall in Texas.
I have the first release of the MTH 4014 with oil tender. There is no Big Boy on the boiler nor anything in the cab. Don't know if MTH updated the model for the new release of just re cataloged the first version.
I also have both new versions of the 4014 from Lionel one with Big Boy written on the boiler and one without both have the Big Boy floor mat.
Rich, you're not alone. Pardon me while I wash the soap out of my eyes...LOL

That isn't a "floor mat", but the actual steel floor of the cab, with that big, shiny emblem on it.
