In a mixed lot at a local train auction, I recently acquired this rather oversize wind-up engine and tender. My good friend Steve Clarke repaired the broken spring along with the broken flange on one wheel. I have included pictures along with a size comparison with one of my larger Ives engines. I have searched the net, but found little information beyond the fact that the company was based in Austria and was in business from 1921 to 1972. Based on the construction I suspect that this engine and tender are postwar and probably from the 1950's or 60's. I have been unable to find pictures of other trains by this maker, with the exception of some late production handcars. Information welcome!
