Here is the National Weather Service Statement from 0418 AM this morning. Hope it helps for making Train Show plans. Springfield is in Hampden County:

HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

418 AM EST THU JAN 22 2015
THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTHERN CONNECTICUT...ALL OF
MASSACHUSETTS EXCEPT BERKSHIRE COUNTY...AND RHODE ISLAND.
.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.
HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY.
A COASTAL STORM WILL IMPACT THE REGION SATURDAY INTO SATURDAY
NIGHT...BUT THE RAIN/SNOW LINE AND NORTHWEST EXTENT OF HEAVY
PRECIPITATION REMAINS UNCERTAIN.
THE GREATEST THREAT FOR A NARROW BAND OF HEAVY WET SNOW APPEARS
TO BE NORTHWEST OF THE I-95 CORRIDOR INTO THE WORCESTER HILLS AND
EASTERN CONNECTICUT. TO THE SOUTHEAST OF I-95 IT WILL PROBABLY BE
TOO WARM FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW AND PORTIONS OF WESTERN
MASSACHUSETTS MAY BE REMOVED FROM THE HEAVIEST PRECIPITATION.
TRACK NOT SET IN STONE...SO THE RISK FOR THIS NARROW BAND OF HEAVY
WET SNOW MAY SHIFT EAST OF WEST. "IF" HEAVY WET SNOW DOES COME TO
FRUITION FOR A PORTION OF THE REGION...THERE WOULD BE THE RISK FOR
SOME DOWNED TREE LIMBS/ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES.
A WIND ADVISORY MAY BE NEEDED FOR THE CAPE AND ISLANDS SATURDAY
NIGHT.
FINALLY...MINOR COASTAL FLOODING IS POSSIBLE DURING THE VERY
EARLY SUNDAY MORNING HIGH TIDE ALONG THE EASTERN MA COAST BUT
SIGNIFICANT COASTAL FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED.

It looks as if you folks are getting what we need.....again. This year started out so nice then went to heck in a hand basket. It's time for a change in America. IMHO And it will only take place through prayer.

God Bless Us All,........Real Good!,

This doesn't look great for anyone traveling up that way from the NY/NJ/PA area.

We hardy New Englanders used to mark our calendars "major snow storm coming ~ its Springfield Train Show weekend" and then we'd allow a couple of extra hours for the half hour drive and off we'd go, snow and all.

Over the years, it didn't bother us; now age and health do, so I had already decided 2014 was my final show and I wouldn't be going in 2015. Now I have a good excuse: its going to snow.

To those of you who will brave the weather, have fun; the crowds will be smaller and, believe me, your favorite dealers will be there and grateful for your attendance.

I will miss going, but I just can't do it anymore.

best

Fred Dole
