First let me make one correction, I was not the RF on this run, I was the engineer.

There was quite an assortment of classic passenger cars there! Very colorful to say the least. I hope everyone aboard enjoyed the ride up the Shenandoah Valley. Sorry that the weather wasn't better.

Thanks for posting that video.i had always heard about this group,but to see it in all its colorful mix of Art Deco mixed with classic steel Heavy weights was nice although the power was a little.....okay, it was a nice triple header! Thanks, Gman.

Was HEP being used throughout the entire train? 

I can only imagine the amount of amps it would take to pull a replica of that consist in "O".

Probably so high as to be illegal to even attempt it without some sort of certification

Nice video. I just saw the DCNRHS's Pullman "Dover Harbor" on the lead tracks to Washington's Union Station coupled up to one of the terminal switchers. The car was all open and lit up with some crew members aboard...I would assume they will be heading back to their home siding in the Jessup/Laurel area soon.

From what the Amtrak employee said, yes. He was happy at how well it handled the load, commenting that usually about eighteen cars would max out the HEP and that maybe the mild weather helped out.

Good work, Jim and Bob. What a nifty consist of passenger cars. I think I've been lucky enough to have seen at least three of them on the rear of the Capitol Limited at one time or another.

I would imagine that most of those Private cars have their own power sets beneath for when they are off at sidings or running the AC disconnected, i wonder if they could still run even if HEP was supplied.

I saw the 3 Cincinnati Cars in the consist, the Oliver Hazzard Perry,Birch Grove (SP), and the Observatory (NP) Dome NCL Car.

5 car from the rear, what are the larger windows used for? 

Better to view the scenery?
