I have heard of guys painting over the bulbs with warm colors - tan, maybe? - to reduce the blue and the brightness. Not so much as to completely stop the light, of course. Single coat, maybe.

 

Can't verify the results; just word on the street; never did it. Probably would improve the tone, a bit.
