The entire ides of the Red Hook streetcar line was ludicrous from square one. A waste of time, money and effort. A streetcar in Staten Island from St. George to the Sailor's Snug Harbor would work. As would a line from the Indian Museum in lower Manhatten, down to South Ferry, thence up to the Southstreet Seaport and thence to Chinatown. Or on 42nd street from the Intrepid and the Jersey Ferry to Grand Central. I visited these PCC's and they were vandalized and rotting. Plus they were exposed to corrosive salt spray. Diamond lost 8 PCC's that were stored at the Brooklyn Navy yard that were scrapped in the recent past. Plus trolley poles and signals kept on the lot near the pier. Better to have at least one salvaged. I doubt anything other than trucks (if that) would be useable at this point. The concept was a money pit without merit. From nowhere to nowhere at warp speed.
