The Boston Metro High Railers Train Club will have a special Open House Event on Saturday, September 28, 2013, for O-Gauge Railroading Members, NETCA Members and any other interested model railroaders at the Clubhouse, 5 Waltham St. (Rt. 62), Wilmington, MA.  The event will be held from 1000AM - 400PM.

All are invited to come and view the layout in operation and to see the continuing progress we have been making on the scenery and other layout elements.  You are invited to bring a locomotive and rolling stock to run on the layout.  Both command control and conventional locomotives can be operated on the layout.  Lionel Legacy and TMCC locomotives and MTH PS2/PS3 locomotives using DCS can be operated.

Refreshments will be available for all free of charge.

For purposes of food planning, if you are planning on coming please post a response to this thread or send an email to me at jfqueenan1222@comcast.net.  This is the same email as listed in my profile.  Further directions to the Club and other information can be found on our website; the link is below...

Every time I say I'm going to go to one of these, something happens and I end up not going. Still, I'd love to see those mountains and the rest of the scenery in person. It all looks terrific in photos. And I sure do hope to see some of those windup British locos there as well. I've marked my calendar and hope to finally get there. I'll have the filet mignon, Jim.

The layout and men who operate it are first class.

If anyone is going to start a layout, I would strongly suggest they visit this layout.  This layout has greatly improved on the Lynn Westcott L Girder benchwork design.  If you want to see L Girder benchwork done to the max, visit this layout and go to school.  I have visited some great layouts in my day and can state this benchwork is the best you will ever see.

I am sorry to say this one doesn't fit my schedule.  But I am very interested in someday paying a visit to one of your open houses.  How often do you have them?

I am relocating to the Boston area from an area south of Philadelphia.  We are in the process of looking at homes now.  The old layout is just about packed up, so it would be a good time to "go to school" as it was mentioned, on L Girder bench work before I get started up again.

Please let  me know of alternative options to visit some other time.

Yeah, like you roll out of bed, roll over twice and you're there. It's a tough one Chris.

Sadly, I will not be able to make it. Not so sadly, I will be on vacation. I think you guys have a great layout and I was so glad to see it earlier this year. I do look forward to visiting again and I wish you the best.
