Well, as usual, there is no fix for STUPID!!!!!!
"I literally just asleep on my train. There's no one on this train! Literally I was screaming at the top of my lungs for help. lmfao no one answered, the train was completely empty and shut down for the night," the girl wrote on Twitter.
She took a video, posted it on Instagram and Twitter and called 911.
Okay, so here's the mindset of today's youth. I have a cellphone but instead of using it, FIRST I scream my lungs out, THEN I laugh because no one answers, THEN I take a video, THEN I post the video on Instagram and Twitter, an lastly after all that I call 911. She did the most important things first though. She doesn't even fall into the "stupid" category. . .
One of these days I'm going to read a story where someone actually takes responsibility for their own actions......well, on second thought maybe not.
I would more than likely be considered todays "youth" at 30 years old, only thing is if I had a situation like that I would probably dial 911 first, and not post anything to twitter or Instagram, since I really don't do that anyways. Yes I have a Facebook and yes I have a YouTube account as well as a twitter, but the Facebook is mainly to keep in touch with family and YouTube is to watch mostly train videos and put my own videos up, and twitter I really just don't use much.
"Honestly I probably wont take the train again, I'm pretty horrified."
There's good news for the rest of us.
The really sad part of all this is, not only does her ilk vote, but they REPRODUCE!!!!!!!
I'd have to say I agree with the young lady on one point; I too am "pretty horrified". For a different reason, however...
Curt
you guys are harsh.
No one walk through the cars when they're ready to tie up for the night? People fall asleep on NJT all the time:
NJ Transit is investigating the incident. "It's extremely rare for this to happen," NJ Transit spokeswoman Nancy Snyder told NJ.com, which first reported the story. "It is the conductor's responsibility to check the train."
Chris:
I won't fault her for falling asleep; as you note, people do it all the time on trains. What I find ridiculous is her reaction. It's the conductors fault for not noticing her ticket said Middletown? She'll never ride a train again? And she posts on Instagram and Twitter before calling for help?
I will not deny doing my share of dumb stunts when in my late teens and early 20's. When I did something stupid however; my primary impulse was to keep it a secret if possible; not want to share it with the world. I just thank God I had the time to mature before iPhones came along.
Curt
Curt, I agree. Today young people have became conditioned to 'share' everything with the world.
I know some grown adults who do the same.
I fell asleep on the train a few decades ago while going home to Middletown. The conductor woke me up at the Matawan Station. I never had a problem with NJT.
