Northwest ShortLine?
Are you referring to the tower's sprockets, or the worm gear in the gearbox?
Right now I believe the choices are: NWSL and Stock Drive Components.
Peter Banks has cast bronze replacements for sale
Tell us more? Cast gears? Is he selling gearboxes, or just a repro worm gear? Who is he?
I got a lot of replacement gears from Weaver way back when but they are all splitting now, so would would be happy to find a better replacement. I normally run them in pairs or 3 or 4 together and have plugs between each unit so they all get good electrical pickup, as if one hits a dead spot in the track it can over stress the other drives that are working.
There is an outfit offering new metal towers for the Weaver drives. They list them as upgrades for the Red Caboose Drive but it references the drive P&D sold for the GP9 which is essentially a Weaver Drive.
Look under the heading for GP9 Drive upgrades.
Says "sold out." Also seems to say tower only - no wheelsets or associated gearboxes.
Those aren't gears, they're sprockets. I've been experimenting with using them, in brass, for over a year and a half. As a matter of fact, I installed them in the new CLW Center Cabs. There are some photos in this Photobucket album that show how I use them. https://app.photobucket.com/u/...57-976a-3cc25f450ef1
