Hate to hear this.
Oh oh, I sent them my TMCC Chessie Crane car for service back in May. While I've heard nothing, from looking at some posts about how long these take I felt I was just in the ballpark. I just called the number on the website to see what the deal was, and got a recording from Dean Brasseur. I left a message. I'll post updates when I hopefully get info.
Update:
I talked to a guy there, not the owner, who was truly helpful. We talked for a bit and he said that he would check on it right then. He came back and said that it was actually being worked on right then. I believed him. I'll post a follow up in a few days.
Its not all bad news, says they are opening a repair business in North Carolina..So at least it is something. I have used them they are great.
Brasseur came to my rescue several times - it's a great shop that does excellent work at a reasonable cost. Glad to hear they intend to remain in business although at a new location. Thankfully, NC is not "in the middle of nowhere." That's in the heart of big-time collegiate football and basketball, so there's a fringe benefit to relocation -- if the Brasseur crew is into sports!

Glad to see Dean will still be in the business.
What is going to happen to the K-line parts?
They used to be one of the dealers I bought parts from along with others. Thought their website was easy to navigate and use. Then they went and switched the website and I could never a stinking part! Maybe they'll still sell parts and revamp their website back the way it used to be. At least the parts look up.
Sorry to hear this. I've been there a number of times over the years. Dean resurrected a few MTH PS1 locomotives for me. Another Michigan shop gone.

Pretty sure it's ALREADY happened. Wait for official announcement.

I wonder who is in North Carolina...
I thought Dean had already gone from Brasseur to Lionel. Or was that someone else

Dean retired from Lionel a few years ago.

Hope it's near the Triangle.🤞
Google search of the NC phone number shows it in Albemarle. Not too far from Charlotte
Further to my post (#3 in the thread), during my initial attempts at contacting Brasseur about my pending repair, I called both numbers on the site. I left a message at the number with the 704 area code, and the guy I talked to was at the 989 area code, in Saginaw. About an hour after I left the voicemail, Dean Brasseur returned my call (the 704 area code). He said he is in NC now. The Saginaw guys are working hard to do as many repairs as they can before the end of the month, and will then contact the owners of repairs they couldn’t get to.
This is PURE SPECULATION on my part, haven't heard anything through the grapevine, but with Dean moving to NC and the so far unexplained electronic parts disappearance, does 2+2 = 4?

It's interesting, and perhaps concerning, that "Parts" are not listed as a menu item on their new website.

We'll have to wait and see, but I haven't heard anything about the disposition of the parts that makes any sense so far.
Chuck, what a great thought. Let’s hope it becomes a reality.
When Dean left Lionel, he had and just got his real estate license in NC. Said to me if I moved to NC, to get in touch with him and he would help us find a new home there.
Dean was a huge asset to Lionel!

Oh the irony. I wonder if Lionel is subcontracting the warranty work?
the store will be closed at the end of August more later
Dean said no parts.
the store is closed just repairs are being finished up at this time
Trainz bought most of the remaining train parts and new stock
To close out the posts I made here on 8/8 and 8/9, I just now received back my TMCC Crane Car. It had not been touched in the 3.5 months it was there. The form letter inside the box gave the impression that anyone with stuff in there to fix should be receiving it back shortly.
I don't have ill will towards them, business can be tough especially when the the customer base isn't booming. Now to find another repair shop.
I must have gotten one of the last K-Line parts orders out of them, label on the box is dated 8/8/23. Good to know Trainz has picked up the parts inventory.

Well, their customer base must have been pretty good if they couldn't get to your crane car in 3 months.
Everyone I spoke to in the store was gracious in spite of their predicament, as was Dean in NC. As I said, I have no ill will. I just wanted to close out my post, which is something I always try to do.
