"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.

Post your non-O scale stuff here!

Was on their site the other day and discovered this

C&O L-1 Hudson

http://www.broadway-limited.co...lorangeboilerho.aspx

This one features an "Orange" boiler that BLI claims that it was the original color and then painted yellow  (yellow bellies) at a later date.  I can't find anything to substantiate this claim.

Can anyone comment?  So unique that I had to pre order one; coming in November.

A yellow painted boiler is also available

Which is silly since I got an email about Thursday regarding the announcement ofr this loco and on Monday it was sold out. If Lionel or MTH did their BTO that quick Id never buy anything

Hi Matt,

This model was not "BTO" for BLI. If you read the announcement you will see that it was actually pre-allocated. It sounds like they got some deal with the factory and set the production number before announcing the model. I think it's great news that they were able to sell out so quickly. When they have a success like that they usually follow up with a 2nd run so you will probably get another chance.

Here is a link to a picture showing the original "orange belly" along with other interesting facts regarding this engine.

A high level passenger train "the Chessie" was produced but never launched because of the increasing use of Americas love with the auto right after WWII and our new highway system.

Maybe Sunset 3rd Rail can pull this one off since they can produce engines in small batches.

Their B&O "streamlined version of the P-7  (pacific type) sold out quickly (missed out on that one)
