Since I really wanted to try out an engine with a steam wistle and there was none in the new catalog I went for the new 3759. I could not pass the sale price at Trainworld. I hope to be able to run it with my older 3751 pulling heavyweights and weaver troop cars. However if they won't play together easily or I have to give up to much from the Legacy engine to run them in TMCC than I will sell the 3751. But I hope not. I am really looking forward to trying this out.

Did anyone find out from Lionel if the GS-6 tender will have the correct lettering? (either Southern Pacific Lines or the correct Southern Pacific lettering). I like this engine but wish it had the steam wistle effects, but ofcourse it is right next to the smoke stack. Maybe steam blowdown would have been better in this case. If I new the tender was correctly lettered I would probably go ahead with it.

Blue Streak,

Good luck and enjoy your new purchase!!

Don't sell the older 3751, I have that one, it's a great engine as you know. You can easily run them together. You need to run the new one in TMCC mode and the will play together nicely.

I've run Legacy and TMCC Diesels in a "Lash up" and they run fine. You will lose some features in TMCC Mode but its worth it to have them running together. You'll forget all about the sounds when there running. Look at the video below.
