Bronx Terminal steam engine switcher sold through Hobby Craft Stores 1936/7

  Very nice once again. Not sure how you find these unique locomotives. I noticed there is a price difference between machined and unmachined drivers. What would the difference be, in being smooth versus rough (like MTH's Dockside) ?

machined ...just press on ...raw ..chuck up in a lathe and hope to get 4 matching wheels .... feel lucky ?

Carey....I love the engine.....but I also love the Delta Lines buildings that are on the layout in the video!

Once again, very interesting and significant model, good score. You have a nose for these.

We had the NMRA National here in Atlanta some years ago, and there was a fantastic replica of that CNJ Bronx Terminal built to the the track plan, with the planking, main freight (round) house structure, rolling stock and engines et al in HO. It might have been the coolest thing on the whole floor though the decal boxes the estate dealers had there were pretty awesome too

Everything is so cool about that! Your engine, your layout buildings, the ad and the kit itself.

Was that the one by Tim Warris, the guy that makes the track hand laying jigs and stuff? He was setup at Trainfest in Milwaukee when I was there. Yea, it was kinda spectacular. All that complicated track work and all.

It may have been, I do recall various complex trackwork jigs for compound switches, crosstrack and gauntlets etc.

It dawned on me that he had picked a perfect theme to model in a limited amount of space, and yeah spectacular.

Hello all .... thank you for your kind comments ...the little engine is the second one I have ..both different builds from the same castings ....  the engine was also offered by Famco  in OO gauge ..by 1940 ...  

this latest engine surfaced on ebay .....face it there is a small market for outside 3rd rail pieces ... I'm happy to be the market ...  this one took some paint remover to the side tanks to find the hand lettering ....  it may not look like much ..but you should have seen it when I started .....there was a good reason why the ebay seller jumped at my offer ..still needs lots of cleaning .....
