I own the following articulated sets from the mid-30s: the “Minnehaha”; the “Comet”; the “Green Diamond”; and an early version cast alumininum “9900”. All have what I believe to be their original motors and the motors for the respective sets appear to be similar, if not identical. They all run.
Does anyone know of a reliable source for brushes, springs, parts, etc. for these motors? I guess I have the same questions as they pertain to Lionel sets such as the 1700E. Are there parts numbers I should be aware of?
I am trying to develop a reservoir of parts needed to perform basic service of my trains. I think I have Marx covered. As AF (and Lionel) seem a little trickier, any input from the experts out there will be appreciated.
