I finally got around to putting this excellent Altoona Model Works kit together. I tried to simulate the copper cladding as seen on the York tower after reading some online issues of the Keystone Modeler. It is named for the phony tunnel nearby which was supposed to go into the furnace/utility room but never made it through the drywall. Sorry if the pics are kinda lame, I took them with my me-phone.

It will be awhile before I get back to doing the scenery in this area. I was just in the mood to do a kit.

Thanks guys. Dave I liked the kit a lot. It went together very well and the parts were crisp and accurate. I may eventually build a base for it with a relay cabinet when I get to working on the scenery here. Not sure why the roof looks a bit shiny. Next time I am Dullcoting something in the shop I will hit it to see if I can knock the shine off. I am looking forward to seeing what else Altoona will come up with, I'd like to try some more of his kits.

Norm,

That is a great kit and you did a fine job putting it together. I really like the small roof over the first floor door and the large window on that side of the building. Small details like that can really set a model off. It reminds me of a tower on the Jersey Central Railroad that was located on the street where my Grandparents lived in Plainfield, New Jersey.
