I have always liked the Budd Metroliner trainsets.  When looking up their history, I noticed that there were some with a roof blister, while most don't have that.  I think it is tied to one of the rebuild efforts.  Can anyone tell me more?  Was this for dynamic brakes or something?

Thanks in advance,

Glenn

Preserved at Strasburg.  I loved seeing these as a kid racing along the NEC at 100 mph!  The metroliner is really what got me into trains as my first "toy train" was a battery operated Metroliner in Penn Central paint. When I grew up I was lucky enough to ride one several times between DC and Philly.  Very exciting to see things at track level.  I wish somebody would come out with a decent O scale model of these like the ones offered in HO a couple years ago.
