Amtrak and B&O 4 the Buddies !
I have two - Reading RR
I have a Christmas one and a Beth Steel one from RMT. I think they're great. I also have a trio ( one powered, two non powered) from K-line. The body casting for the K line is the same as the RMT but the trucks and lights on the RMT buddys put the K-line's to shame. I actually bought the beth steel one to use the guts for a repower project on another engine.
Houston Tinplate have some RMT's!
I have the MTH Reading 4 cars and Williams Reading 6 cars
I'm a big fan of Budd RDC's. Would love to have a set of the 3rd Rail ones, but I am content with my MTH RailKing RDC's. I have four cars, but only run three as the Chessieliner.
Forum member Chris Lonero was kind enough to sell me his customized B&M 2 car set.
Body and motor by Williams, but fitted with MTH PS2 and LED lights on the rear.
Fun to hear it call out the stops between Boston and Troy at random!!!

Here in S land, RDC's are not common. Rusty's are just about the only ones that aren't high end brass. Even then, the man who made the castings did so on a very small scale (pun not intended).
I scratch built one few years ago in Pennsy colors in the style of an original Gilbert offering, as if it could have been made by A.C. Here's a few photo of it on my club's layout. I run it constantly on my home layout too.

I have a "Beep" version that I bought with the intention of doing something with it,
converting it to an RDC=3, and scale length. It is up on really high trucks....the S
versions shown above look much better..I am guessing people have had these apart
and have, IF CAN BE, moved the frame up into the body or taken some other action
to bring the body down on the trucks. (I have thought to maybe just use the chassis
to power a kitbashed gas electric) I also have the shell of an AMT/Kusan RDC version
around here somewhere but haven't looked at that possibility. I'd need two of either shells, to lengthen. How accurate are those "BeeP" trucks, anyway, for an RDC,and are any scale sideframes, at least, available?
You better believe it!! I sure would like to get my hands on one of those full O scale ones made a few years ago by Sunset/3rd rail. Until then my fleet logs mile after mile of fun.
Auburn-Kusan shell with K-line motorized trucks, ERR cruise Commander and sound. It has LED interior lighting, bicolor marker lights, and headlights. It has no couplers so runs as a single unit.
Plastic more than brass. Wow. Sort of raises the value of the brass models.
I have 3 of the four PRSL RDCs that MTH made. Now, if only MTH would do their Baldwin AS-16s in PRSL, I'd be in Seashore lines heaven. (I know the wheels are wrong, but at this point, I wouldnt be too picky).
But, those Sunset units do look nice, too!
I definitely have some! I've got the Lionel Amtrak ones (in fact, that was a Christmas surprise from my Dad the year they came out - instead of being under the tree, though, he had them out and waiting on our layout in the basement for when I went down to run some trains), and 2 RMT Buddys: one in Lehigh Valley and one in B&O. The RMT ones are my go-to trains for when I want to run a small loop on the floor when I just want to do a quick running session now and then.
Oh man Keith, I just got more than tempted. You should let Mr. Mann know he owes you a commission check!!!
Thanks for letting us know about the new run of RDCs. I think you should jump in the water (it's warm!) and get one too!
I ordered up the NP RDC-2. Any idea when these are coming?
One of the coolest pictures I've seen, since coming to O gauge forums -
lewrail's.
Lew,
if that's you in the picture... you sure look like you're enjoying yourself. Great shot!.

I have some of the RMT units, I have a pair of PRR ones I'm going to upgrade for command operation.
I have the complete set, they have 2 pickups and are very bright on the layout must watch clearances on 036 curves as they swing pretty wide going around curves
