Hello everyone! My Dad and I are going to be building a workbench soon for my trains, and I was just wondering what suggestions you would have for it? We are planning to put a lip around it (to keep things from rolling off), plenty of outlets, good lighting, and storage along side for parts. I also have a cradle and magnifying light already.

We are also planning a test track along the side wall, but we don't want it to stick out too far. Does anyone know of an o/s/standard multi-gauge track? This would make things easier.

I'm pretty sure it does exist.  Check in on the Tinplate forum.  There will be someone there who can help you.  Your plan sounds solid now.  If you could recess the cradle into the bench top, it might be nice.  Have a removable cover for it when not in use.
