I model the late 1800's/early 1900's. Got a good deal on a pair of YOhnp stock cars. Opening the box brought about some dread:

With a little thought, and reading the instructions, discovered that building the car sides could be done in about 10 minutes a section.
To better match the Colorado Midland prototype I want to represent, I modified the sides. I don't have the skills to reproduce the car exactly, but can get it close enough for my imagination. The assemblies are complete now, and awaiting sanding and sealer:
