Just got this on ebay. I am a fan of the BW80, it runs my O27 postwar steamers with ease. This one came with a case that was broken in shipment, in that the stanchions that the screws holding the case together, snapped. I think it originally came from Lionel with the defect from someone tightening the screws with too much torque.

At any rate, has anyone else had this problem? I hope to fix with Evergreen or Plastruct tubing to make a sleeve around each stanchion for stability and then gluing and screwing the assembly together from there. There is no visible damage to the electronics I can find and it hums along nicely.

It shipped insured, but the last thing I want to do is take my check and give it to the USPS. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Well, it is sitting in its box, on a shelf in my basement, and it isn't going anywhere. If you decide you think it is worth it, just yell.
