Now that the FlyerChief Poloar Express is a production reality (see photo), who will definitely be buying one. If you will be purchasing this set, are you an S gauger adding this to your collection, an O gauger who likes having a RTR Polar Express with cruise control speeds, or a multi-gauge collector who already has both O and S gauges?

If you're buying, is there any particular feature or features of this set that swayed you to choose it?

Thanks for your input.

I'm an S-gauger, with a set on order.  Assuming they are delivered this year it will be working overtime on our club's Christmas display layout in Kannapolis, NC.

We have a few members who painted and numbered locks and passenger cars (quite nicely, I might add) but I think having a production product that viewers will be able to buy will help bring more people into the hobby.

Regards,

Nick C.

Your post made me think. I consider myself an S Gauger, with a boatload of 2 and 3 rail O, and Marklin HO.

So I suppose I am a multi scaler.

I have this set, and 3 of the other Berkshires on order.

I will play with the FlyerChief features, but envision flipping the switch and running them on AC analog most of the time. Who knows? I may like it. It's good to have an open mind. Just not so open that your brain falls out.

I will not.

I left S partially because this seems like the direction Lionel prefers for AF. This is not what I wanted from S. I was ready to back the truck up to purchase scale steam and diesels with Legacy, but apparently there weren't enough people like me.

I'm happy for those people that want this type of toy train, but I'm not interested. Sorry to be negative, but you did ask.
