Besides the boards on the OGR forum and the TCA, LCCA and other member sites are there any other internet Buy/Sell sites that might attract a larger audience. Not interested in the auction route.

You can try ebay with a Buy It Now fixed price?
Big audience guaranteed.

I don't think you'll find a larger audience than eBay. Folks who run this forum don't like to talk about eBay for some strange almost "out-of-touch" reason. Just yesterday another thread "disappeared" when someone brought attention to Lionel's Legacy kit selling for a huge premium. I don't get it , as eBay is very much a part of the toy train landscape (both buying and selling) nowadays. I've had VERY good luck finding some nice items that way... and many of the major dealers have a presence on eBay these days. So they've seen the light as well.
As already suggested here, you can always post your items as a Buy-It-Now transaction, thereby avoiding the auction route. Just factor in the fee-structure accordingly, so you'll need to sell for more than you might ask for here on the OGR for-sale listings.
Best of luck!

I just don't see all the vitriol against eBay. It is the best place by far to buy and sell our trains.
The ogr board is good also but you just don't reach the buyers like eBay. I have been on eBay since 1998 and never had a problem.

With all due respects, "read his answer". If you don't want to use eBay, then just come out and say so, for gosh sakes. But Buy-It-Now on eBay is just like posting something here on the OGR forum with a fixed price (plus fees, of course). It's not an auction if you strictly list it as a Buy-It-Now item. Get it???

I saw that outrageous price on the bay. Can't figure out why anyone would pay almost double for that set. My guess is that it never did sell but will never know for sure.

OGR does not like mentioning the bay. I did that to avoid the post getting zapped.
It is not the bay but EBAY, it is not a dirty word for God sake.

Now we are picking on spelling? Mine your own business!!
I've had great dealings through the OGR B/S board. The only other place I've gotten any success is ebay.....
Another resource is: http://www.grahamstrains.com/s...elp.php?section=sell
Have you forgotten about www.choochooauctions.com That is where I sell most of my O gauge trains that I want to sell. Very low fees, no percentage fees, but now you have to give the Florida governor his cut, it is called taxes. Mainly O and S gauge trains are for sale on there.

The phrase is, "Mind your own business!!" LOL
What, me worry?
I buy lots of my train stuff on Ebay. If you do some searching you can find some great deals. I have found lots of new Lionel stuff at rock bottom prices.
I don't sell there as there is to much competition. Thanks, Jon
For selling train stuff I have had the best luck here on the forum and at the local train show. I just wish the train show was more often than once a year.
Ebay.
O-VAY
Ebay stinks, high fees, non paying bidders, and HIGH fees!
If I cannot sell on here I go to local shows, and I also have a virtual booth on Bonanza. You will need to promote your Bonanza booth yourself, but it does work after you get established. I also created a web page on WEBS to sell off my extras and odds and ends. Its free, the hard part is getting it picked up by the search engines. Once your page starts popping up in Google and Bing search results, your set.

Wellll.... If you've been following the nightly gnus, the phrase "Mine your own business" is rather appropriate....at least for our matriarchal Federal Government and the NSA. Perhaps it was a subliminal misspell?
re the original topic...it's hard to beat the world-wide following of E__y. While the auction side of the process can be frustrating for its beat-the-clock nature, the Buy-it-Now or Make-Best-Offer version can be very fast and effective.
E__y is one of those entrepreneurial made-in-America employment+profit-making stories that has grown to 'Hulk' proportions such that it's acquired its own active-detractive group of PC naysaying followers,,,a hallmark of American 'success'. I suppose in a weird sort of way it's to be...celebrated?

Here's another Buy/Sell board.
http://www.toytrainexchange.com/
It has been around for a long time (almost 20 years). They saw a lot of traffic before ebay.
