Here are two photos I took on a snowy but sunny day in Akron, Ohio on Monday, January 7, 2013.
Old B&O coal tower located just off the intersection of Home Ave. and Eastwood Ave. There used to be a roundhouse to my back, but it is long gone.
Old Erie RR girder bridges over Forge Street in Akron near Summa (City) Hospital.

Thanks for posting the photos Bill. I always get a kick out of seeing these reminders of old Class 1 railroads.
I don't have photos, but I know of two bridges still carrying the name of old railroads; one in Northport, AL that still says GM&O and another near Gauley Bridge, WV that still says Virginian.

Lionel has a coal tower in its 2012 Volume 2 catalog (pg. 118) almost identical to the tower in the photo.

Cool photos; thanks for posting them. Those Erie logos on the bridge look like they might have been painted last year, as opposed to back in the day.
