The throttle on my CAB-1 just broke. The red light on my TMCC base no longer flashes when I turn the throttle. Every other button works. Is there a way to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How old are the batteries, have you tried fresh ones? The knob function can go bad on these, but new batteries would assure thats truly the problem.
These remotes do strange things when the batteries are near dead. Theres no way to know how much life is in the batteries.
Forum member Dale Manquen used to do repairs on these, I'm not sure if he still does as parts became scarce.
It might be just as easy to buy a used replacement, but you could still run into problems down the road.
Upgrading to the new cab1L might be a better choice.
That would be a good choice, it runs TMCC engines better anyway.
I had two cab 1 throttles go bad, one was bad right out of the box, the other went just shy of being a year old. 13 years ain't bad
I thought I had new batteries in my CAB-1. I just tested them and 3 were around 1.56V. The fourth was really low. I replaced it and now the throttle works fine.
Thank you.
oops.
