Just got the new Legacy 990 system v1.3, setup according to instructions but the cab 2 remote cannot locate the base. Tried to scan and retry no luck, also changed to each of the 9 channels still with no luck. Did not see any instructions or trouble shooting info in the book.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Steve

Thanks, Marty. That solution worked!! I first put the base chip in the base and did the reprogram as directed in the manual on the second page of the reprogram discussion. However, that did not effect any change to Base Not Found. I then put the Cab2 chip in the remote as directed on the first page of the reprogram discussion of the manual and everything worked!! Problem Solved!!
MartyE, Spot on! I received the 990 for Christmas and immediately encountered this, same, issue. Reconnected my TMCC1 to insure that everything else was set up properly. That worked fine. Then, got very frustrated with the manual for the 990. There is no troubleshooting information at all. Thank goodness for this forum. A very brief search brought me immediately to this thread and my answer. Reloaded the software on both base and CAB2 and all is working fine. As a newbie on the forum (getting back into O gauge after 20 years of college tuitions and work), it's a genuine pleasure to find this group. Thanks to everyone involved.
Ron

Thanks Marty!  That works!  But a question...  How arrogant can a company can be to sell something who doesn't work well right now???

I have my own solution...  MTH.

Take care of your customers Lionel, they gonna buy more of your products because your not alone in this poor market in the reality of 2012...

you are not very nice!  Lionel has taken care of any problems that have shown up at least for me!!!.

I wouldn't throw stones in that glass house of yours.  I'm not sure but there is a DCS forum on here that is full of a lot of the same.  Neither one is perfect and that's why folks here and on the DCS forum are here to lend a hand.

Really, well why don't you go read the DCS forum, far more lost engines in DCS than lost bases here. Plus you don't have to be afraid to upgrade/reinstall your base or wait till York for someone to do it for you

Sell a product at this price with these kind of problem is arrogance.  You really think I'm a wicked customer and Lionel is a great company to act like that???  I don't wanna see companies who's think it's enough to be the best of the worst.

I'm not a model train professional, can I be just a Lionel fan and have something good for what I work for?

This is an awesome product but finding the way to play with for 3 hours is frustrating.

Sorry

How much is a new DCS system??What was MTH's excuse for not sending a box of "magic bulbs" with their system for all the years prior to REV L? The fact is there are "glitches" and "flaws" and mistakes made with a hobby such a narrow market but wanting more "stuff" every year. No manufacturer is exempt Lionel MTH even the less expensive conventional brands have had problems posted from time to time.My favorite are those who tout the brass manufacturers, and even though their production numbers are a fraction of Lionel/MTH's they still turn out plenty of out of box defects or failures. I don't think ANY of the manufacturers INTEND for these problems to occur, unfortunatley  due to the circumstances of the development and manufacturing its the nature of the hobby.

I won't fall into the "who's better" game.  I use both command systems and enjoy them both.  Both systems have problems and almost all the problems have solutions that people on this forum have worked very hard to find and help others overcome them.

They don't do it for profit, they do it because they enjoy the hobby.

I'm not sure what specifically you are talking about with Lionel.  Most would agree that they have been very proactive and responsive in solving issues.
