Can you just use the Id number of an engine you use with the Cab 2 to install it into the base 3?
I think the directions are very unclear.

Yes, you can manually add it to the Base 3 through the CAB3 app or you can use the Black Memory module to make a module off your Base 2 and then load into the Base 3 with all the information you had in the Base 2. However, until the Base3 System Utility is released, you can't load them all at once, but only 1 at a time.
You can also just do it as it has always been done with the Legacy Remote if your Legacy remote is connected to the Base 3.
I swapped out my base2 and wifi module for the Base3 today. All went well, it found all 11 LCS modules including the Layout Control Sytem on the ipad. The Base3 App is pretty nice, but when the phone goes to sleep you need to reconnect it to the Base3. I think I still like the Cab2 remote…. Until I need four digit addresses… O’ Yes adding engines one at a time is interesting…. Not tough, just not quick… Also secure home networks don’t use WPS, so waiting for the utility to come out in September… Have not tried all the features yet, but I’m very optimistic…

Hey @swise, I’m glad one of us knows how to research an issue. That worked perfect. The Base3 is now on my home network and working perfectly. Any chance you also found a way to bulk upload engines without the app

I think that one is a higher hill to climb, so far that's not possible.
Okay @gunrunnerjohn, If you say it’s not possible I’m done looking. Let’s hope the base3 utility comes out in early September.
Well, it's been brought up several times, and it was always deemed not possible until the utility is available. I figure if Dave Olsen says that, it's probably really true.
