Caboose Repaint | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

A good friend of mine just got into the model railroad hobby. He has a train set but does not have a caboose. I thought I would surprise him with a custom paint job of a caboose to match his railroad name.

I picked up this Bachmann Santa Fe caboose at an excellent price at Joe's Train Station in Hatboro, PA. I started with my normal 91% alcohol bath, thinking it would take 24-48 hours to remove paint. The paint started to bubble right away, so I rubbed it with a toothbrush. In 20 minutes, I had all of the paint off. I was very surprised.

Awe... you caught me. I tried to disguise it as best I could on my O gauge track. 😁

My friend has an outdoor garden railroad.

Thanks. Sort of challenging for me. If you zoom in you will see I did not do such a great job. But from a distance....
