I have two of the locomotives that I no longer need, but am having difficulty finding a buyer who is willing to pay anywhere near what I believe them to be worth. That being said, I am assuming that this locomotive is based on a standard locomotive frame that I am having difficulty identifying. Is it possible (or feasible) to swap out shells on these two locomotives for something that is not Amtrak? I might be able to use them if they were something like UP or BNSF. Something more contemporary. Has anyone ever done this and if so, what all might be involved? I don't really know if the trucks or the undercarriage support the change in shells, so I would need to investigate what other locos built on the same frame look like. Thanks.
