IF you're an electrical DIY'er, the lighting portion can be handled with LED flickering tea candles which are 2 for $1 at DollarTree or similar stores. They run on 3V batteries which can be derived from accessory power. Here's a photo from a different thread showing the typical guts. The supplied LED can be swapped for one of a different color as some campfire circuits use multiple LED colors (red, orange, yellow) to achieve a more realistic effect. Again, this is only for the electrical tinkerer.

Lionel had a hobo camp fire a few years ago. It looks great and you could easily change out the hobos for campers.
