I bought these 2 cars at Charles Ro today and I don't think I have seen them before. These things are huge! They almost dwarf my 400E and a 200 series hopper. Anyone have any history about them?
Red Forney, based in Carlisle PA, made these trains between the years of 1975-85. He built a line of freight cars to include box cars, hoppers, tank cars, gondolas, flat cars (some with loads) and a caboose. Most of his cars were around the 14" length of the hoppers you have, but he also made a few 22" box cars and gondolas. The middle period of his production was decorated and lettered by Pleasant Valley Printing and Newbraugh Brothers Toys. These are some of the best looking cars. Red also produced some GP diesels and a GG-1. One of my favorite box cars is the 3 Mile Island car that denotes the 1979 incident. Red Forney passed away in late 1985.
