Can smoke fluid freeze while its in the smoke unit? I have a garage layout and while I have a kerosene heater on while I am out there, what about when it gets below freezing at night? I take all of my trains with smoke units in them in the house before I call it quits for the day and kill the heater but I am I being too paranoid? And if the fluid did freeze, would it cause any damage to the unit?

Ok it is 8:00AM and I retrieved my full bottle of JT Mega-Steam "Fireplace" Smoke Fluid. Now I didn't go out and buy an expensive Technical thermometer. Nor did I do any type of control or advance planning.

I just did it the old fashion way and put it on a chair on the outside deck away form the side of the house.

At 0 degrees F this stuff will freeze as solid as a brick. Or at least at first glance that is what it looked like.

I was able to twist the dropper off the bottle with no problems. That is when I found out it is not in a liquid form but a soft jelled form of substance.

Lab note: This jelled substance is quickly turning back into a liquid form after only being in the warn house less than 5 mins.

Next test after thawing is will it smoke?

Ok I having a little fun but I had nothing better to do over a darn cold weekend.
