. . . am I looking at a new remote. Guess this is a GGG question. I'll skip the part about how I managed to dump a capful of Goo Gone on the top of the remote. I was pretty sure that I got it all cleaned off really quickly. And it worked just fine for a day or two. Then the last time I went to use it the display was unreadable. After I opened it up it looked like some of the Goo Gone had wicked into the display. Ugh. Everything else is fine but that LCD does not look like it's made to be removed or replaced.

Looking for feedback from the technical experts on what my options are. Thanks.

Hi Scott - Have you called MTH Service at 410-381-2580 / Tuesday - Thursday Noon to 5PM EST.  Tell them what happen, if they can fix this issue they will give you a RA Number. Return Authorization. What version is your TIU?  and the new controller will have to be the same version or you will have to update to 5.0.

I have always used MTH service, and their price structure is from free to very reasonable and they stand behind their work.

Gary - Good Luck.

I'll follow up with Gary's tip and call MTH just to see what they say and if there is a repair option. In the mean time I'll start looking for a replacement. Bummer. This was my backup remote after I cracked the thumb wheel on my primary. GGG has since repaired the primary so now I need to replace my backup.

Thanks, S
