I posted some pictures under "CAN YOU SEE IT", showing damage to a LIONEL TMCC crane, this damage was sustained in shipping. I received some advice suggesting I try just going ahead and repairing It rather that try to claim insurance I decided that was the best thing, and did just that, here are the results. Thanks everyone Stephen (cTr...Choose the Right)

Much Improved. I hope you enjoy the Crane Car for many years now.
I actually went out a purchased a TMCC control set for mine (I had a base). DCS can run it, but it is much easier having the overlay on the CAB-1.
I have struggled with whether to buy this or not. It's tougher for us when you have to modify things for 2 rail. I already have the TMCC brick so I was a step closer. I will be watching to see your future with this. It does look great!!
Joe;
This is by far the best operating car ever made.
Only thing close is the Coors Light Reefer cars but they are one of a kind and very nitch situation.
Hi Russell & Joe Its a nice crane there's no doubt, and Im really thinking It would be worth getting the TMCC base as I have a couple of Sunset models with TMCC awaiting conversion to Two Rail, and I don't see the point in scrapping the sound systems. I have and use DCS, but as Joe said the challenge is to convert it to Two Rail and at this stage Im unsure how to use TMCC in Two Rail. I was surprised that the Three Rail wheels on this crane run just fine on my code 125 rail,( hand laid) doubt it would go through points. Stephen (cTr...Choose the Right)
Do you have the boom car as well Stephen? Ya gotta get the boom car!
No Rick! I don't But I did have a look on the Bay for one, so Iv'e been tempted. Stephen (cTr...Choose the Right)
The crane car and boom car are probably one of the very best accessories Lionel made, you get a lot of "play value" out of them! Other than a couple of sticky outriggers, mine works great. I only wish they had a magnet like the gantry crane, that would be even cooler.
The problem with claiming the insurance is the hoops you have to jump throughout to even make a claim, and in Australia they hold your item until the claim is settled, there's a lot of correspondence and form filling. and the end result could be they don't except liability, there could be a passing of responsibility from USPS to Australia Post or they could decide your responsible, or the seller was. In the end it took twenty mints to fix. A pair of blind jewellers pliers, some paper and a screwdriver. Stephen (cTr...Choose the Right)
