I have been there many times in past years but not lately. Grain Elevators on the Prairies are now an uncommon sight, unfortunately. High River, just south of Calgary as well, had 4 or more of them, but they all burnt in fires 10 years ago or so.

A book I saw at one time, I believe called "Prairie Skyscrapers", photo documented remaining elevators in Western Canada, that were still standing in the 1990's. We have an authentic operating one here at Heritage Park, which is part of the historical village 1910 vintage.  Lots of old vintage CPR rolling stock to see, plus live standard gauge 0-6-0 pulling various old coaches to see.

"Heritage Park" is not at Nanton, but elsewhere?  About 1978-80 I flew into Calgary for the Stampede (rodeo), with a charter package deal of a rental car, a tent (no kidding), and seats in the rodeo.  I found rooms, a cabin, at a dude ranch west of Calgary and used the car and tent to explore the Canadian Rockies, Banff and Lake Louise.  One of the last things I did was drive out east of Calgary and find and photo two big red elevators along rusty rails. I have heard of that book and think I found author's website once and he was selling photos and calendars
