Are there any photos of the trolley pit graveyard while it was open? Were any Third Avenue Railway cars buried there?

The pit was filled with water, so unless there are photos (or 8mm film) of trolleys actually going into the pit, not sure what you would be able to see.
I have no idea of how many trolley cars are in the pit, but the number of them I think is significant. So the size and depth of that pit must have been huge. It is incredible that something of this scope went unnoticed by the media.
This article says 100. I am assuming that is not an accurate number, but it would have to be literally dozens for a person to even consider a number that high.
