Listening to the officials at the Press conference yesterday saying this VIRUS could drag on into August these conventions could be cancelled. I hope not.

But safety has to be the FIRST PRIORITY in this situation...like it or not.

I am hoping for the best, too, but am remaining open to being disappointed. I have reservations (some non-refundable) for hotel and registration for the National Garden Railway Convention in Nashville the first week of June, but at this point am assuming it will NOT happen. I could, of course, be wrong about that, and I certainly hope I am wrong, but that is my assumption based on the information I currently have available. Not worth risking the public health--not to mention one's own health--for ANY event, let alone a train convention. Would be nice to be around for future conventions for a number of years to come.
My wife and I are in several of the high-risk groups, so we aren't doing any travelling in any event. If I had been planning on attending any conventions this year, I would be open to the possibility of cancellations right into the autumn. Nature will run its course without regard to anyone's calendar.
