Just curious if anyone is interested in a C&EI caboose. Lionel, Weaver and Atlas have producted engines and rolling stock, but no one has to my knowledge produced a C&EI caboose. If enough people are interested, maybe we could get someone to make one.

just found 1 car w/ MTH locator. No caboose. Is that the right road? Joe
Well, I made my own C&EI caboose. This one is not prototypical, something I put together so I would have at least one. There have been none made in O scale that I know of, But I would like one!
Your best bet would be to have MTH make a Premier C&EI RS-1 diesel and C&EI GP7 diesel, then they would have to offer the C&EI Steel Center Cupola Caboose and the close enough Streamlined cupola N5c Caboose in the C&EI scheme.

The C&EI had a variety of caboose styles, though none, slanted cupola aside, resembling an N5C. The slanted coop, shop built steel cars in the 7 to 21 series are quite similar to Wabash and CB&Q's versions, making me think the cars were bought in "kit" form.
1-6 are ACF built, and match C&O's 90,000 series, similar to Quality Craft's sheathed C&O caboose though with a steel car-body.
Some of their older conventional wood cars in the 100 series could be rendered easily from either Ambroid, or McFadden kits, especially the AT&SF kit.
I'm shocked "Brother Caboose" hasn't posted a C&EI cab here as it seems he's built more of cabeese than the rest of us combined, likely better as well. I will say Jovila's facsimile, captures the look and feel of the C&EI cars quite well with a dead on authentic decal and paint application, well done.
The steel bay windows in the 20 series are fairly meat and taters and could be rendered fairly closely from current rtr versions of the same, though the bay did not extend up to the roof like most other versions. Look for Champs' N-6 Road Name set if your not into doing your own.
Hi Dennis,
C&EI is a winner for my place. Evansville,IN.
Hey BTW,......how is your overseas production coming along?
Lionel has made center cupola steel cabooses with the windows like that in the Pere Marquette scheme and other C&EI cars, so they could make the C&EI O Scale caboose, although I wonder how hard it would be to mount the couplers correctly on one of their O scale cabooses.

I have ordered the C&O magor caboose from sunset/3rd rail. This is a dead ringer for the C&EI. Hoping to get decals made to paint it once it arrives.

Several years back All Nation made a C&O Center cupola caboose out of cast Aluminum. I picked one up last year.
Unfortunately, C&O Used caboose corner steps that look more like Steam engine tender steps than the standard caboose steps.
