Does anyone know what the round canister type exhaust that sat just ahead of the stack on the fireman's side of the smokebox was used for?  I believe it was an exhaust for the air pumps but there was always a steady stream of white steam exhausting out of it when the engine was moving.  A You Tube video clearly shows an overhead view and there are 2 separate pipes going into the unit which makes me wonder if the Hancock steam injector also exhausted through it.  Any clarification would be appreciated.
