Running ie9 for a long time, can no longer add photos to a post.

I can select the photo but as soon as it loads get the yellow dialog box as shown in the photo below.

At this point no matter what I select the photo doesnt load.

Java version is 7 update 51.  Also if I 'm running ie9 why do I continually get the message

"Your Browser is unsupported. Please upgrade to a modern browser" ie8/9 etc

If I set the browser mode to ie8 this message will go away, but didnt have this problem until recently.

Appreciate any ideas, prefer to keep IE.

Ed H,

I am using IE10 and I get the same stupid message about "upgrading" to IE8/9.  I think this is a function of your Internet Service Provider (ISP).  My ISP is AT&T, and I think they expect me to use their modified version of IE.  Since I don't, (I use the plain, old MS version) they think I'm still way behind.  Anyway, solving the problems might be as simple as downloading and using your ISP's version of IE.

Good luck,

Chuck

Chuck,

This update message I get only in  the OGRR forum. Right under the top banner.

Your browser is unsupported.  Please upgrade to a modern browser: Firefox ·          Safari ·          Google Chrome ·          Internet Explorer 8/9

Yesterday the only way to get rid of the message was to set the browser mode to ie8.

Running either in browser mode ie9 or ie9 compatability mode would cause the warning. At the moment I can set browser mode to ie9 and dont get the warning.

I've also tried reverting back to earlier of version of java that worked for me and still

cant upload photos.

It's not an ISP problem. It is an Internet Exploder problem. Microsoft seems to think the internet belongs to them, so they build proprietary features into their browser that only works on certain sites. They don't understand the concept of "open standards."

IE 9 and VISTA? Good grief! I cannot imagine a worse combination for doing anything on a computer.

Upgrade to Windows 7 and Firefox. You will be much happier.

Ed H and Vulcan,

Sadly, I have to agree with Mr. Melvin.  I use Firefox exclusively now to access the OGR website and fora, mostly without issue.  I made that choice because I got tired of the occasional IE10 glitches.  Firefox is fairly safe, easy to download, and regularly updated, and it's always good to have an alternative to IE10 (or whichever version of IE you use).  To prove I have no loyalty, I use IE10, Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Comodo Dragon browsers as the mood suits me.  Probably more alternatives than I really need, but keeping fingers in many pies always makes finger-licking enjoyable!!
