I am looking at the very informative "Guide to Car Type Codes" published on line by Eric Neubauer (http://eaneubauer.ipower.com/type.pdf). In the "Contemporary" types, there is reference to "equipped" and "unequipped" boxcars, gondolas and hoppers. Nothing I have found on line describes the difference between "equipped" and "unequipped". Does anyone know wha the differences are?

Thanks.

I don't understand your question?
Page 5 , Numeric Key A, of that pdf tells you what kind of equipment each car type has.

Equipped cars are those that have special features such as load restraining devices to prevent shifting or racks to load automobiles or some other type of "equipment" that certain types of shipment may require rather than just a plain jane box, gon, hopper.
