Ceiling Shelf Layout Is Finally Complete

Welcome to nose bleed railroading, Bob.  Nicely done! I managed to squeeze in 2 parallel loops with all 072 curves on my Plate Rail Line.  Although I complicated the track plan with crossovers and sidings, I plan to rework and simplify it.  Switching operations at higher elevations gets tiring because you're constantly standing on a ladder.  I will salvage my switches for the next layout since I prefer just watching them run from down below.

 

Still, the handiest item to have for this type of layout IMHO is a painters step ladder.  Up on step 2 puts me at eye level.

Very nice! Always a great feeling to complete a large project.

And then to sit back, with a great beverage and watch and listen.  It makes it all worthwhile.  A train running on a layout is soul therapy.

That's too funny, I was thinking up a way to describe that sunny disposition of a room, and optimystical is what I came up with!

I wasn't totally satisfied at first.

Yes, Alice and the White Rabbit will have their very own rabbit hole and a nice home on the layout.  But, now I am caught giving away my secrets.  Think I'll take a pill and get real small.

Very nice result! The support brackets are some of the most attractive and unobtrusive that I've seen. They have an art deco look. Matching the shelf paint to the wall also gave you a nice result. It highlights the train and loses the shelf.

 

Again, a nice result and worth the time planning it. Some cork road bed would have allowed the fast running without the noise.

 

Have fun making sawdust for the next layout!
