I own a vision line Centipede AA set.  As per the instructions I have both units programmed with the same id. This is required so the stereo sound works correctly. The rear A unit defaults to running backwards as i would expect.  Tonight I tried to lashup a legacy steam engine with the centipedes. I quickly found that this would not work.  The problem was with the centipedes. The rear A unit defaulted to run forward when in the lashup. I would have assumed that it would have kept its default to running backwards.

So,  in order to run the centipedes in a lash up I would need to program the rear A unit with its own id so I can properly set its direction in the lash up.

Why wouldn't they keep its default setting of running backwards?

Has anyone else tried to lash up another engine with a AA set where the rear unit normally runs backwards?

Hey Allan,

I don't think you understood what I was trying to do.  I have the AA set running fine by themselves.  I wanted to run the AA set WITH a Legacy steam engine.  So I built a train.  I made the steam engine the lead, and the AA the second engine in the train.  When I when to address the train, each A unit went in different directions.  The rear A unit, which normally runs backwards, now, wanted to run forwards.
