It has been a rough week on the railroad now that my CSX engine is up and running now I have a power supply that keeps blowing the breaker. After about an hour looking for something on the track I unplugged the power out from the TIU and it still pops. So I opened it up no bad smell so I took my meter across the both red and black and there is a short. Is this a known problem that is a easy fix or do I need to send it in for repairs.(REV L)

Thanks Henry

that's what usually fails as the TVS diode catches the voltage spike from train derailments or engine short problem and the voltage spike causes the tvs diode to SHORT, usually replace the TVS diode and your back in business, they can be  purchased from Digikey electronics or mouser electronic ! if you want to test the tiu just cut one end of the tvs diode and try the tiu if it work just replace the diode with a new one Job done !
Connectors, Interconnects | Rectangular Connectors - Housings | DigiKey

After I cut the one side of TVS diode the short did go away. I was going through so of me things in my train storage area and came across this little bag of diode and low and behold there was the one I needed KE33CA it was the numbers as the one that I removed 10 min later we are all good. I do stand corrected it is the variable channel not fixed. FIXED

So all is good back in the train world cave
