Don't you need to download the sound file for the locomotive, Proto2, from the protosounds website and then using the latest version of the DCS Loader 2.0, load the soundfile into the upgraded MTH locomotive?
I think that's how it works.
i changed a 5 volt to a 3 volt.
Where did you get the 3 volt system? If it's a kit, then follow the instructions and load a personality file. If the 3v system is salvaged from another engine, then, yes, you probably did something wrong.
Are you testing in conventional mode? Did you turn up the volume?
its a new kit from mth. so then i just need to put on track and download file to it
Your best bet is to buy Barry's book, follow the instructions. It's very easy to understand and has plenty of illustrations/pictures to follow.
Barry's book can be purchased and down loaded on line for instant viewing. It's located on the MTH web site.
i know, I've used it many times to accomplish this task
Lionel 3. You must download the appropriate 3-volt sound file from the MTH website and then upload it to the loco.
When you powered up, did you get a click from the loco?
