Characteristics of MTH Flywheel Encoder

Does anyone have the data sheet for the encoder used for MTH PS2, the one that is part of the engine wiring harness? I'd like to use one to trigger chuffs and to detect when the locomotive is moving, it should be easier than mounting four magnets on my drivers.

I'd like the actual part number and a data sheet if possible.
