My favorite engines are two Lionel Chessie System SD40-2's, but according to the Trains magazine annual 2012 issue none are list for Chessie. Can this be correct?

Well I know the C&O had SD40's and SD50's...I don't think they did have any -2's.
Mike here is some pic's of the chessie sd40-2's http://www.trainweb.org/chessi...tos/html/SD40-2.html
Great pictures of some beautiful engines. Thanks for sharing.
Welcome William
I don't think the C&O side had SD40-2. B&O did. I think WM did also.
The Chessie System SD40s and SD40-2s would be listed underneath B&O, C&O, and WM.

I know for a fact that B&O/Chessie had some SD40-2s. They were numbered in the 7600 series-same as the EM-1s. According to Jerry Doyle's book, Chessie System Diesel Locomotives, they were numbered 7600-7619. They were built, 2-3/77 on EMD Order Number 767033. Apparently, C&O and WM had none of these.
