I am thinking of buying the legacy version. I was wondering did the real pacific pull freight cars?
I was looking for the matching passenger cars and the station sounds dinner car. But no luck on the station sounds car.

A quick Google serach couldn't find any photos of the Chicago and Alton Pacifics pulling anything other than passenger cars, but Pacifics in other lines pulled lots of freight on occasion (and routinely) - I just don't know at the C&A versions with their fancy paint schemes. But it is a really nice little loco - I have the Southern Crescent (repainted flat black as UP) and the Blue Comet versions and they are just splendid runners with good sound, etc.
I would run what you like. I pull these pass cars with a K4!
