Hi, As you may already know, I am scratch-building a model of The Milwaukee Road's Wausau, Wi. depot.

I got pieces of basswood to start making the structure. I could have used birch plywood also. Are there enough advantages to use one over the other? I thank all in advance for your replies.

Paul, I use a lot of Northwest Lumber siding and clapboard. I am sure they have something that may suit your project with scale lumber in mind. You can purchase it in various lengths and thickness and spacing at most hobby shops and of course online. That along with Grandt Line windows, doors and accents and you are in business.
