I am VERY dismayed to see the Choo Choo Barn in danger of closing if not sold. That was one of my regular ports of call on visits to Strasburg. Has there been any news on an offer from an interested buyer/successor?

Thank God in heaven!!!! I would have really missed that place. That is a regular port of call for every one of my Strasburg visits.

I was in there a couple weeks ago, and they were giving a tour to two people, discussing daily sales, and current inventory. I assumed that they were interested parties. Seems the assumption was correct.
There was never any danger of the CCB closing. It is a viable, profitable business, not a struggling hobby shop, or a run-down tourist trap.
Because of the healthy status of the business, there was never any doubt they would find a buyer.

That's awesome, Rich!
When are you moving to Strasburg?

I'm glad they found a buyer. That place is a treasure!
A friend tried stopping there on Wednesday before York, but it was closed - I was concerned that it might be closed for good. However, according to their website, Choo Choo Barn is now closed on Sunday and Wednesday. IMO, being closed on the day before York isn't the smartest thing they could do.

We were there on Wednesday too. Yes, I believe that they are normally closed that day, but we thought that they would have made an exception for York week, considering the number of enthusiasts in the area at that time.
The staff in the associated hobby shop told us that a purchase of ChooChoo Barn was in its final stages - good news
My first time attending the York train show was in the mid 1990s with my wife and 2 young children at that time.
My favorite thing on that trip was visiting the Choo Choo Barn: fantastic hobby shop and layout therein. Arnold
When I was growing up a very long time ago, Sundays and Wednesdays were days off for people like my dad, doctors, and pharmacists. I'm not sure how things started out that way, it was a long time ago. But in nice weather that is when we play golf.
My wife and I visited on the Tuesday of York week and the lady at the counter said that the sale would be effective the next day (Wednesday). Hopefully, the new owners will keep it going as well as the previous folks, as it's a great place. And with the demise of Roadside America--about an hour away--Choo Choo Barn's survival is even more important for us folks that love large layouts.

I was in the Train Shop on Tuesday, March 25 and learned that there is a deal in the works to buy the Choo Choo Barn and Strasburg Train Shop. Wonderful good news.
