I just saw a list of Christmas Train Rides in the Midwest, some of which l know are run by diesel tourist trains, but there may be others running steam, possibly the Little River Pacific on that tourist road in SW Michigan? Others Midwest or? Whitewater RR out if Connersville, Ind., or??
The C&O?, I think, used to run a Chrismas train in Appalachia passing out gifts to kids. Was that done in steam era, or by other roads? That sounds like a Christmas scene to model.

IMO, the one thats sets the standard for "Christmas Train Rides" in Owasso Michigan.
Milwaukee 261 (4-8-4) does a "North Pole Express" each year, but it's a very short trip - from St. Paul Union Depot a couple hundred feet to the "North Pole" where Santa comes on the train, then back to SPUD. Still, back when I worked in downtown St.Paul rather than from home, it used to be nice to drive by the simmering steam engine every day.
Reading and Northern in PA does Christmas rides sometimes uses their 425. this weekend running CNJ 113 Steam locomotive out of Minersville.
